The nation had a laughed at Angelenos this past week because of our reaction to the cold snap that blew in. You may have seen the viral videos of shivering reporters delivering breaking news about how cold it was. It must have seemed a bit dramatic compared to the conditions that the rest of the states are experiencing, but truth be told – it was freaking cold!
Despite popular belief, it does get cold in L.A., and what makes it so extreme is the fact that we’re spoiled with insanely beautiful weather at least 300 days a year. There is of course the rainy season that happens in late February and “June Gloom” that brings us a month of clouds. During those times, your twitter feed will likely fill up with pouty models and rainy day selfies. Other than that the weather is always great.
Being from Alabama, I’m used to experiencing all four seasons and intense thunderstorms, so I personally enjoy the change in weather. But, what I love most about the city is the option to go to the beach and hit the slopes all in the same day. And while you may not need snow boots or a parka in L.A., you will need a jacket and scarf for the winter months and non-summer nights.
