New Years Resolution: Move To L.A.

Many people probably set out to make L.A. their home in the year of 2014. If you're one of those people, I am here to tell you to go for it!

New Year resolutions can be a great way to set goals for the new year. But they’ve gotten a bad rep because so many of us set these goals that we never follow through with. I know that many people probably set out to make L.A. their home in the year of 2015. If you’re one of those people, I am here to tell you to go for it!

The first thing that you have to do is devise a plan. When do you want to move? Where do you plan to stay? How will you eat & pay bills? These are the necessary questions that you should have answered before you make the move to L.A. Give yourself time to figure out the basics and remember, “ain’t nothin’ to it, but to do it!”

I just finished a Master’s course overseas and I’m currently living/working in my home state of New Mexico. I am saving and planning on moving to L.A. in May to pursue acting and writing. I am hopeful of finding a full time job within the criminal justice system so I can continue to save and dip my toes into acting slowly to see if I enjoy it enough to commit fully to it. I’ve been doing a lot of research and if I do not find a full time job before moving I’m planning on working for Uber as well as doing background acting and other jobs as I continue learning new skills. Any advice would be much appreciated.
